The day is almost over, here in Utah, the sun is setting in the west and it has been a great day. I arose at six o'clock and had my monthly shower and then I got all dressed up in my sweats and put together a loaf of bread and washed the dishes. I then read the newspaper and when Jeri awakened we got our selves cleaned up and went to the hospital for another blood draw and about six tonight Jeri discovered her INR was 1.6. I thought that they may have cut-back too much on the warfarin. After the blood thing we went to the Bountiful Temple and did some work for those poor souls who have died with they could do it for themselves. We then came home and shortly thereafter Lee came to see us and stayed for a few hours; it was great to spend some time with her, and it was super to receive the emails and text messages and phone calls wishing me a happy birthday, thanks to you all!! It is remarkable that I have met the milestone of 65 years of age.:) That is if you don't count those last twelve years. It appears that the Roundup is starting to take an effect on those pesky weeds growing where they shouldn't be. I am grateful for living this long; it has giving me time to meet a passel of grand, and I do mean grand, children and great-grandchildren, and of course those five children and those four in-laws. Y'all have been a great blessing to me.
April 29, 2009

Today was a very busy day for me and Jeri had some slight effort.lol We went to the Humanitarian Center for an hour; I folded diapers once again and Jeri quilted, they act like they want us there so I am sure we will make this a weekly habit. On our way home we stopped at Smith's for some viands and I bought some Roundup to feed to the weeds in the parking strip; we shall see, in a day or two, if I did a good job or not. This evening I took Jeri for a ride so she could deliver an invitation to one a lady that she Visit Teaches. The weather is really bodacious today. Well, as I look at what I wrote it doesn't seem like I was as busy as I thought I was, oh, I forgot that I checked on Jeri's shoes she bought from Woman Within, when she discovered they wouldn't be here until a couple of weeks she wasn't very pleased, to say the least.

To all of you who take the time to read this blog I wish you a very pleasant day!!

Today has been a busy day for me. I went to Dr. Souleir (foot doctor, and Soulier means shoe in France; at least that is what he and Cliff said) for a checkup on my foot that has a pesky callous. I have been going to him for a few months trying to get this callous taken care of but it looked like he would have to go down through the top of my foot and trim of some of a bone in left foot. However, a month ago he suggested that I get a memory foam or a gel pad to put in my shoes, which I did, and lo and behold, it really worked and the last month I have had no pain in my foot. After I told him of my success he trimmed the callous and said I didn't need to go see him again unless the pain comes back, which I hopes is never. About one o'clock Jeri and I went to Costco for some things that was needed around this house and several tens-of-dollars late we left with the things we needed. The weather has been really good today; the temps are in the 60s with just a very slight breeze.

Jeri decided that she needs a couple of books about the use of vinegar so while she is resting I got the deed done, I hope she hasn't changed her mind. I guess that is all for now but be sure to do all of the things you are expected to do, by me, and you will be alright.

The loaf of bread is in the oven and will be cooked at 3:30 pm and that is the time we will start to consume it.

Just a note: today is the 108 anniversary of my dad's birth; this is for you who don't know that my dad and my two brothers' were born in April as was I. There are some that are really rude and say that at least one of us is indeed an April Fool but then I don't pay much attention to what she says most of the time.:) The weather is just about the way I really like it, still cool and dry but I think that may change some time today.

I hope you have a great day as I am.

Adios for now.
My sweetheart had a very interesting night; I awoke about twelve thirty and she was still reading. I about 3:00 am I awoke again and she was outa bed and in the front room doing what she does on her computer and she stayed there until about six, which means she had no sleep all night. When I got outa bed at seven I closed the bedroom door so the noise of the those people who live in this house with us wouldn't wake her up, and it was successful. As I am writing this entry she is still asleep and I hope she sleeps until after noon.

The weather is still very iffy, 'they' are predicting that there will more rain every day for the next few days with snow in the high mountains, which is a good thing but it will delay my spray of the weeds in the parking strip so the rain won't wash away the weed poison.

Just as finished writing the above Jeri arose from the bed, however, I am not sure how long she will be awake before she has another nap.:)

I am going to go away for a time so I can make a loaf of bread, all of our white bread has been consumed so I must get busy doing that.
Sunday, April 26, 2009.

Church was really good today. There are several, which means I don't really how many, families of Chamberlain's' and one of those couples, who are really old; they must be as old as I am, spoke in Sacrament Meeting. They did a really good job but they did something I have never seen before; the man spoke first and took up all of the time except a few minutes. He left just enough time for a youth speaker to talk, who did a really excellent job and then a family sang a very short song and then his wife spoke about ten minutes and ended just on time. I come to the conclusion that he and she knew that he would take all of the time and she only wanted a few minutes. In his talk he stated that his mother's family were of the Carling line and had been sent to Filmore very early in the settlement of Millard County so I have wondered if his family had integrated into some of my relatives. I shall talk to him in the next few days. Mike did a very good job in teaching the SS lesson; he is always very prepared and has a great talent giving the information that is in the lesson plan, and Priesthood Meeting was also excellent. Now, how do you beat that?

After church we ate a snack and then waited until about five and then the Farrs' and the Judd Warners' showed up and we had a great meal, which capped off a got Sabbath day.

This will bring me up to date on my blog. It rained during the night and has rained some during the day but it is fairly warm and nice outside. We have kinda stayed inside today, however, Mike and Patrice have been busy doing their separate things. Mike went shopping to Costco with Chris and Patrice was doing church things. It has been an very unusual day for Jeri and I. I followed Katie's info and found a way to have my blog printed and bound into a leather bound book, which really sounds like a good deal for me. It is supposed to be warmer tomorrow than today but then I don't really care very much. This kind of a day would be very boring to most people but it is just right for me.:)
Yesterday (Friday) was another busy day. I read the paper and was brought up to the current events. The grandson of one of really good friends from Rose Park was killed in a car accident caused by to crooks that were tying to evade the police. He was 19 and the son of Tim Strebel and the grandson of John Strebel who lived in our ward and the families of the crooks were trying to put the blame on the police because they were chasing their sons. It is crazy to how people try to put the blame on someone else. About noon The Boss and I went shopping for some more stuff to fix the landing strip for her get out of the car where we park at the curb in front of the house; the parking strip is loaded with rocks and is very difficult to navigate so we bought some sand and some stones and we started the effort of the placement of the stones and Christian came home from school and finished the job, and a mighty good job he did. I then had to repair some of the planting I did Thursday; my knees were ready for a rest so I walked around the block, which really helped, however, I did have a little trouble with cramps in the calves of my legs during the sleeping period. It seems that Jeri is continuing to get a little better every day. The day was much cooler that it has been the last few days and is supposed to be colder the next few days. Oh, Chris also cut a rivet off of one of our camping chairs so I can but a screw in to make it more sturdy. Well, that is about it for yesterday. Oh, by the way, thanks Katie for the info.

Thursday, April 23, 2009

It is still Thursday and it is still really warm; it got into the 80s and tomorrow it is going to be in the 22s for the low temperature. We went to the local hospital so Jeri could give some blood and her INR is 3.5, which is better than the 3.8 of last week. After the blood thing we went shopping for flowers for the front yard and then Jeri worked to hard; she thinks I can't do things like they aught to be done but it didn't take too long for her to decide she would let me do what needed to be done. It took us until 5:30 to get them all planted just like they should be. My next project is to see if there is a way I can print these daily reports so I can use them as a journal. If anyone knows if and how this can be done I would like that information. I'll talk to you tomorrow.
This is Wednesday's news a day late. It was warm and sunny day so I went outside and started pulling weeds in the flower garden so The Boss could take care of her flowers. At twelve-thirty we moseyed on down to the Humanitarian Center and worked a couple of hours; Jeri and another woman did a quilt, they were tying not stitching. While they were doing this I was folding diapers and putting them in a stack of four and then I would bind them together with diaper pins; it is impression that they will be sent to Africa for distribution. A lot of people that were there working tried to get my goat about me folding so many diapers but my response was this is just a drop in the bucket of what I did when my offspring were coming to the earth.:) I worked next to an 80 year-old guy that was born and raised in North-Eastern Montana; his wife died 13 months ago and now he is living with his son, which seemed to be working well for his son's family and him, however, he says that his son didn't approve of him going square dancing and other things with a woman he become acquainted with while dancing. He told me that he wasn't sure why his son was distressed that he was going-out with this lady but wondered if the son was concerned about his inheritance, which will never be a concern for my kids. It seems that both of us enjoyed this activity so I think we may go there once a week to help in the endeavor. We are doing well and Jeri is having a great time 'talking' to most of the family and she kinda keeps me up to date on what is happening to out loved ones. I shall post the activities of Thursday later this evening.

Today is a significant anniversary for me; it was just one year ago that some weird doctor cut my left leg off at the knee and never told me it was going to almost kill (because of the pain) me for many months, and on this day one year later my knee still, on some days, has some pain especially when I first get outa bed, however, a couple of Tylenol pills gets me back on track. I think that it is better than it was before the surgery and I have been diligent in exercising the muscles and tendons so I have good flexibility. Don't get the idea that I'm about to get the right leg done; it will have to be a great deal more painful than it now is. Lee and Cliff just showed-up and drove my pickup away to pick up the trees and other vegetation for the yard and Jeri just left to do her visiting teaching assignment so I am all alone; it will be interesting to see how I will 'wear out' this afternoon. It seems like we have to do laundry often and it is a good thing that Christian is here to help us do some of those trips down the stairs to the laundry room.

Seeing that it is now one-thirty in the afternoon I realized that some very significant things can happen later today, however, it that happens I'll let you know.

Monday, April 20, 2009

Here it is almost the end of another day. I thought Scott was so eloquent in is explanation of how to get some bread flour in 2009 I went to Smith's and bought 3 bags full, however, they were really small bags so I will go to Dick's next time. Mike said he about turned the furnace back on last night because it was so cold but Jeri and I had the bedroom window open all night, and believe it or not it was just right for me. Oh, I did use some of the flour and made a loaf of bread and it looks good but we haven't had any yet; that will take place tomorrow morning and I expect it will be excellent like all of rest have been. Lee and Cliff are going to 'do' their yard with the yearly spring things tomorrow and they are going to us our pickup to haul all of the vegetation. The temperature has been in the 60s all day and is now in the 70s, which is just right for me. Lee told us today that Betty Mortensen (she is Joe Lubbers sister) had surgery and lives on Sonota Dr. we hope she is ok. Some of our friends in Rose Park are really getting old but are not as old as the people in our ward in Bountiful. As I am writing this tome Jeri is watching TV so she isn't bothering me.:) I think this is a good summary of today, so far, but if anything new happens you shall know about it tomorrow.

Sunday, April 19, 2009

Now it is time to say some things about Sunday. Church was good, a returned missionary spoke and then was followed by a High Councilor. Sunday School was good and Priesthood was excellent; Bob Kime was the teacher today and he is especially good in teaching about Joseph Smith; some may be surprised by this remark but I have decided it is my obligation to forgive if I want to be forgiven for what I have done that may have offended someone. This afternoon we went Home Teaching, we only have one family that I go to; Del Mar Pease does the other families over the back fence and calls that good, which is OK with me if it is OK with the High Priest leaders. The weather is bodacious, in the mid-sixties; Mike turned off the furnace yesterday so we now have too rely on Ole Sol, which is just hunky dory for Jeri.
Saturday was a rather uneventful, to say the least! All of the family that lives here were gone most of the day so Jeri and I just kinda did what we wanted to do, which was basically not much except eating some vitals, and playing on the computer, and Jeri's is still not working; Mike thinks it is an Internet problem but I am doubtful to say the least. If it is not working by Monday morning I'm going to take it some place and have it fixed. The weather is just like I like it to be. Still outa flour so no new loaf for us; I will have flour on Monday! That is all I can think of to report, however, I do have a question for Temaire'. Lee told me Friday that there is a thing so that I can down load this blog so I can use it as a journal, which would be great for me. I bid ya'll a fond farewell tell tomorrow. Oh, by the way things are still getting better with Jeri, or at least that is my observation.

Friday, April 17, 2009

First of all; Thanks Temaire! It was my intent to fashion a loaf of bread this morning but I discovered that I didn't have enough flour so I will do it tomorrow or Monday. Lee came to see us this afternoon, she thought there would be hot bread to eat but that was not the case. Oh, by the way there was no rain or snow today. We but all of our winter clothes in bags so we can store them until it gets cold in the Fall. We did the weekly cleaning of the upstairs, which means I did the vacuuming and the dusting of my computer cubby and Jeri did the dusting and making sure that everything was clean and neat. It is really good to be into April, which is the birth month of some really excellent people, if I have to tell you who they are it won't do you any good; yes there are some April Fools but I don't know any of them.:) Jeri is still having trouble with her laptop; I think she has a virus so I'm going to take it to the place where I had mine fixed last winter. They charge $50.00 for repair and if they can't repair it they sell reconditioned ones for a really low price and give a two year warranty. It is 7:15 pm and the temperature is 67 degrees outside, which is really good. I guess that is all of the news from the Old Warner's in Bountiful.

Thursday, April 16, 2009

This morning when I fetched the newspaper it was starting to rain and there was frost on the windshields of the cars and the weather hasn't been any better all day and 'they' are saying it is going to rain tonight and then turn to snow and it doesn't look for tomorrow but then it should be good weather for at least a few days. Today we went to the medical facility for Jeri to give some blood for her INR test and it was 3.8, which isn't the best it could be. The pharmacist thinks it is the Celebrex and Tylenol but I think they will decide that is not what is at fault, but then what do I know about such things? She has to go back next week for another test. Mike and Patrice are going to a fancy dinner/meeting; Mike is on the board of the Deseret Foundation, which is a money maker for IHC so they get to go. No new bread work today but I'm sure that tomorrow we will need another loaf. One of old, and I do mean old, friend from Deseret died a day or two ago, he was 8 years older than we. Well, that is about all I know for now so will continue tomorrow.

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

When I got outa bed just before six o'clock it was raining and it has rained or snowed or rained and snowed all day long. The whole wheat bread of yesterday must have been a hit; it was almost gone this morning so I milled some wheat and made another loaf for the Young Warners'. If they it continue to eat it this fast I will start buying whole wheat flour instead of the the grinding chore. Of course I had to do the dishes before I could do the bread thing; the deal is I will do the dishes in the morning and Chis will put them 'away' when he gets home from school. After today, the high today was in the low 40s, it is hard to believe that it is going to be in the 80s next week, which is just great with me.

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

So far, today has been a very active day for me. I arose at six-thirty AM and started working; I put the bathroom back together then did the dishes, made a loaf of white bread and then a loaf of whole wheat, however, I have had a slight problem with the whole wheat, one of the kneading paddles didn't knead so I had to start it again, I guess time will tell if will be OK or not. I will know in the next half-hour or so. If not I'll have to mill some more wheat and start over, which will be a problem for Mike; as he is expecting a loaf of warm bread when he gets home, O-well that is what happens when you are working with fallible machinery. As I am writing this it is raining rather profusely and 'they' are saying there will be over a foot of snow in the high mountains, which is really a great thing for the farmers. Jeri seems to be doing better the last few day but if that is not true I'm sure she will let all of us know.

Monday, April 13, 2009

This is a fallow-up of yesterday's entry. About 4:00 pm we went to SLC to attend an Easter party with the Higbee clan. We had some very yummy food and some good conversation and some time was worn away watching the US Open Golf championship; some guy from Argentina won in a 'sudden-death' play off. Shortly after that everyone went home except for Jayci and Jeri and I; we stayed until after eleven, which is the latest that we have been out-and-about for a long time. We finally arrived at home and were in bed shortly after midnight, which makes for a very short night. I got outa bed shortly after seven and it wasn't any to late for me; by the time I was up and moving around everyone was gone and Jeri arose about nine but then of course she didn't turn out the light until after one AM. The weather is very good this morning but then it is April so that can change very quickly. As I am writing this tome I'm Listening to music by John Phillip Sousa and other renowned artists.:) That shows how artistic I am. As the day is worn away I shall do other things of great importance.

Sunday, April 12, 2009

The deed is done and I think it went fairly well for a couple of amateurs. Jeri did really well and I kinda pulled up behind her. We got several comments that reflected we did well but what else can they say? It is rather warm here today but it is going to get cold in the next day or two and we should be expecting snow on the valley floor. Will it never stop? We are fixen' to leave here in just a few minutes for the Higbees' for a Easter dinner. Oh, how grateful for the sacrifice that was made for we mortals, we must never forget. Well, that is it for a short time.

Saturday, April 11, 2009

Here it is Saturday already and Jeri and I are still the only people in the house but Mike, Patrice, Christian and Maren are on their way home. A birdie told me that Mike got a speeding ticket some place near St. George; I understand he was going about 90 mph, and it is going too cost him a bunch of money.:) I didn't think I had any off spring that foolish. I think

I'm ready for church tomorrow but the telling will be in the finished product. The last couple of days have been really good, temperature wise and it rained yesterday until about noon, which was another really good thing. We are going to the Higbee's for Easter dinner; we get out of church at noon and they are through at four. Jeri is really glad she has facebook to keep her busy. It is my opinion that she is slowly getting better, however to her it is really slow.

Thursday, April 9, 2009

Yesterday Mike, Patrice, Christian and Maren left Bountiful about eight AM headed for Las Vegas. Maren will be looking for an apartment for her and Andrew so they can move there in the fall; Andrew is planning on going to UNLV to finish his degree and then go to a dental school; or they just went on a four day jaunt.:) At noon I 'put together' a loaf of bread and I suspect it will be all gone by the time they are back. Shortly after noon we went to Centerville so Jeri could buy an African Violet for our front room. There is no doubt that Jeri has put her stamp on our abode. Jeri had a pretty good day until late afternoon when she had to sneeze a few time, which causes much pain but I think she is feeling better this morning (Thursday) but what do I know about such things? It started raining sometime during the night and is still drizzling as I write this tome and 'they' say that we are going to have snow in the mountains and then for a few days we are going to have a few waves of this kinda weather, which is alright with me; we need the water for the farmers.

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

As you probably know it is now Tuesday and it is time to bring you up to date on the 'old' Warners' in Bountiful. Yesterday I was reflecting, as I was doing the dishes, that I am surrounded by two sick people and one working and one playing tennis, and I was getting dishpan hands.:) It seems to appear that Jeri is getting, very slowly, better but that is by a person that doesn't have a clue. I used up some time yesterday preparing my talk for Sunday, as did Jeri. Lee came out to see us a day or two ago and worked on Jeri's computer and after that it didn't work, and that is a problem for the new Queen of Face book.lol I think she may have arose early, or even during the night, if she could have been able to get her computer to work. I arose at seven and started on the computer and viola I fixed it; who would ever have thought I could do that? Today is a very bodacious day; as I am writing this and the forecast for the 70s this afternoon and it is about time!

Sunday, April 5, 2009

Sunday is almost finished for this week, and General Conference was GREAT! However the Brethren was still using my speech for next Sunday.lol I have all of my thoughts in my head now if I can just get them down on paper. Jeri said today that she thinks she is getting better; I surely hope and pray that is so. Mike fixed a great meal for us (the Bountiful Warner's, the Salt Lake Warner's (Judd & Jesse) Mike is a great cook as is Patrice but Patrice is still under the weather, so to speak, and spends most of the in or on the bed; I am doubtful that she will go to work tomorrow. It is now past the first of April so I can park on the street until next winter; as soon as the lawn dries out I will repair the damage I have caused to the lawn. Unless there is some earth shaking event you will not hear from me until tomorrow.
Jeri had another one of those sleepless nights. She got outa bed at two A.M. and fooled around on her computer until five-thirty and then she came back to bed and slept a few hours; it seems that she is very gradually getting better, or, the drugs are working a little better.

We listened to General Conference yesterday and again this morning; it is wonderful to listen to the voices of prophets'. The weather is really good today and temperatures are supposed to be in the 50s this afternoon. I am somewhat irritated about Conference, it seems to me that all of the speakers know what I am going to talk about next Sunday and they have used all of my ideas, but maybe that is just me. Patrice is still not feeling very well and is staying down all she can, which is most of the day.

Saturday, April 4, 2009

Jeri had a great night last night, I don't think she moved a muscle except to breath, and she awakened feeling fairly good considering what has happened the last week-or-so. It is time for conference to start so I shall listen the next two hours and give a report shortly after noon Utah time.

Friday, April 3, 2009

I just came from outside and it is really chilly, and I don't mean the eating kind. It seems that Jeri has had good day pain wise. Well, just when I wrote the previous sentence she had a spasm so I guess I was too optimistic for my own good; now that she knows how to comment on my blog I have to be very careful of what I say.:) Tomorrow is going to be a very lazy day for me because I have to save my energy so I can go to Priesthood Meeting.lol I think this shall be the last blog for this day. Just remember that all of the people born in April have special advantage over everyone else; just remember that very special Person born on the 6th of April.
Lee came to see us today and while she was here she help her mom get her computer set up for what she wanted needed to do for her, and she stayed until about four pm. Jeri is feeling better this afternoon, which is a very good thing. The weather is fairly good this afternoon. I made a loaf of bread, which is really good, even if I say so myself. Patrice just got home and she can hardly talk; I hope she isn't going to be sick! While Lee was here Marin came a calling and stayed a while and visited with us. It is really good to have he grand kids come and talk to us; it gives us a chance to find-out what is going on in their lives. I can't see where Jeri can find anything to find fault with this entry.
I am sorry to report that my sweetheart had a very bad night. She arose sometime in the middle of the night and was having a very hard time getting in a comfortable position so she spent the rest of the night in the frontroom in her recliner. I went in the frontroom about seven and she was wide-awake. We talked for a short time and then I helped her back to bed and then I did the dishes. When I was through with that chore I helped Jeri get herself into a 'good position' and placed the heating pad at her back and know, as write this tome, she is really making up time for last night; and of course I'me playing some very good music (Mel Tillus) that lulls her to sleep. When I retrieved the paper this morning it was really wet so I called the Deseret News for a new one and after about and hour it was delivered to me, and of course I complained about the paper being wet every time it rained or snowed; we will see how much that helps. I've got to make another loaf of bed today; the people that eat at this place really like my bread; I guess that I will have to put some nasty stuff in it so they will still like it.lol Last night I went to the viewing of Vern Carlson who died a few days ago; he and I were councilors to Bp. Dan Campbell. I saw Peggy and Lucy as they were leaving the viewing room. It has been a long time since I have seen Peggy.

Thursday, April 2, 2009

I tried to do this yesterday but for some reason I couldn't get my internet connection connected so here goes a try today. Yesterday morning we were supposed to get 6 to 8 inches of snow but we only got 6 to 8 snow flakes, which was a really great thing for us because Jeri had an appointment at 10:15 to see what is wrong with her body. She has had very severe pain in the upper body and was concerned if it was her heart or lungs. As is our wont we left shortly after nine and was at the doc's several minutes before ten. After a short time of registering Jeri was invited in to the inner sanctum and she was in there for about two hours when I was invited back in the bowels of IMC where I discovered they were running a test on Jeri's blood to determine if she had blood clot. after I had been in there about an hour it the nurse told Jeri there was no clot, which is a very good thing. Jeri was told that the pain is from Pleurisy; the Dr. then told Jeri that he wasn't concerned about how long it took to recover as long the pain didn't get worse, and if it did get worse she was to come right back in and they would do something else. He said they didn't want to give her any antibiotics, however he did give her a two weeks worth of Celebrix from the sample stash, which saves us and our insurance many bucks. After this escapade I spent an hour-or-so doing a errand for Scooter (Scott). By the way, he called to night to ascertain how his mom was doing and we talked to him for about an hour and a half; I'm glad his end of the line was paying the bill. It was a long day and I am happy to say Jeri is doing much better tonight.
